I was not thrilled when I heard about this so-called Book Six title "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". But then it occurred to me... we know JKR has a fondness for anagrams that disguise true names. This must be one more layer of misdirection, and the real title is something like... with a little rearranging...

Harry Potter and the Ron Filch Opal Bed

There you have not only a title, but (with the addition of a slash) a key romantic subplot. With such canonical support this could be the next hot fanfic pairing.

But what if that's not the right anagram?

The Challenge: take your best shot at discovering the real title hidden in "Half Blood Prince" and use that as the title of a post-OotP fic supporting your theory ::grin::. Um... (some stuff about collecting and posting and deadlines that I haven't figured out yet).

In this book, Harry Potter deals with issues surrounding puberty and growing up in a magical world. He befriends a teenage house elf, who is late to mature and has yet to grow any facial hair. This book is divided into two sections, one intended primarily for young men and the other, narrated by Hermione, aimed at young ladies.

Oh dear, I am a world of silly.

That would be, Harry Potter and Hall of Bother'd Pince. And we all know that Madam Pince gets bothered - er, bother'd - when Harry and his friends are in the library (her "hall"). Therefore, the book has something to do with...books!

Ahahahah.

Heh, I now must link you to the "Why Slytherins Are Sexier" story-essay (here (http://www.sff.net/people/Corgi/textualsphinx.fic/DotH-sexier.htm)), featuring the priceless "Quidditch in Bed":

'I seem to remember ... that "Quidditch in Bed" devoted a whole chapter to what it called Equal Scoring.'

Snape snorted.

'A very short chapter, addressed to the assumed male reader, about how you can tell what the score is and whether it's a real one... followed by an even shorter chapter entitled "Your Witch and the Snitch", wherein the authors try very hard to explain the idea that it isn't all about getting the Quaffle through the Hoop.'

He leaned forward, plonking his elbows on the table in a stance that reminded Hermione uncannily of Seamus waxing lyrical about West Ham.

'The thing is, lads,' (he launched into the matey bark of the average Gryffindor bloke) 'It isn't enough just to find the Golden Snitch, grab it and think you've won the Game. This is where your expert tactics are just beginning...'

Ooh, a most intriguing theory. Madam Pince as a major character... I like ::grin::.
