Out with the old
Jun. 16th, 2004 09:01 pmI have new icons:

Okay, you won't actually be seeing that last one, unless it's in
irilyth's journal.
I made them, and then I stalled on putting them up, because I had to, gasp, throw out my old set first. I finally did it these evening because I've started working on going through old papers and throwing stuff out, trying to reduce what I'll have to pack and move. This is haaard. I have many giant folders full of class notes and the papers we read... even though (now that I didn't have to study for the comps) I'm not likely to need to refer to any of it (and if I did, would be much more likely to look stuff up on pubmed and download pdfs of the articles rather than rummaging through a bunch of folders to see if I had something helpful), it's still so hard to get rid of any of it! It feels like throwing out knowledge! All the labor represented in those margin notes! I'm trying to compromise by keeping a few "key" or memorable papers and a first-page archive of the rest, which means lots of satisfying ripping. But it's tough going. Hopefully the experience of deleting my precious icons and getting shiny new ones will help reinforce the idea that Getting Rid Of Is Good.

Date: 2004-06-17 08:20 am (UTC)Anyway, I'm imagining you saying "Oooh! Pretty" in my voice and then blushing, which is an amusing mental image.

Date: 2004-06-21 03:31 am (UTC)I'm working on the hair chronology bit... I'm at my parents' house until tomorrow, so I'm bringing a big bin of photos from high school back with me to Swat to sort.
And thank you. *blushes*

Kam used to to be very fond of Winslow -- I think that was even her username for a while.
