can't resist
Mar. 12th, 2004 04:26 pmIt's apparently "spotlight on evolution" month at chick.com.... not only the tract of the month ( http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/1051/1051_01.asp )
but articles too! For example, this article proves that the theory of evolution is responsible for violent crime, declines in college aptitude scores, and unmarried couples living together. Wow! I had no idea!

Few people dispute the fact that moral decay in American society accelerated rapidly after 1960. The causes are much disputed but Dr. Kent Hovind presents an interesting theory ... he presents graphs of changes in moral standards shortly after the public schools began teaching evolution-based science. Starting in 1960 the number of words devoted to evolution in science text books increased from less than 5000 to over 30,000 in 1965. Immediately college entrance aptitude test scores began a sharp decline. In the next 20-30 years, Gonorrhea in children ages 15 to 16 increased 226%; violent crime climbed 995%; unwed birth rates grew 325%; pregnancies in girls age 10-14 increased 553%; divorce rates went up 111%; and unmarried couples living together rose 536%.
Could it be that, when our children learned that they were not really the special creation of a loving Creator, but only another animal accident created by a lightning bolt in a pond of primordial soup, that they decided they might as well act out their animal heritage?
Because, you know, those animals are known for their low college entrance scores and violent crime rates... ::grin::
