So after some two years of poking at this story, I managed to finish it about a month ago exactly when Cecilia got the time-eating film job and had her time eaten.

Which is relevant because this story is for Cecilia; it's a long-overdue thank you for the boots, but also, like, a thank-you for having been dragged into this fandom in the first place; this is, more or less, the story I came looking for and couldn't find and you told me I was going to have to write.

So this is, of course, JC, who wants to be Great.

which, thank you so much for it, seriously. I'm very happy that I got you into this fandom which we all love so much, and I like the story a lot. Sweet JC. I love the part where he gets depressed because everybody is enjoying the duel so much, but my favorite line is this: if the dja is like a hundred clutching hands then you have to be a thousand darting blades, a white-burning wall.

It's very cool. I like Chris as a reference archivist, too -- figuring out what people really want to know the answer to and finding it for them. That's a very Jedi way of putting it.

I'm glad you wrote the story. You're welcome for the boots, by the way, no problem :-) And I'm sorry it took me so long to read it -- I wanted to be able to give it my full attention, not try to read it in the ten minutes between getting home and collapsing into bed. And today I got to :)
