psocopteraFriend's wedding on Sunday in Connecticut was beautiful and fun and featured much hanging-out-with-other-friends-goodness as a bonus. Note to self: if ever at the front of a train dancing to "You Spin Me Right Round" and given opportunity to add bride to front of train, be prepared to spend the rest of the song desperately trying to keep her train from getting under feet. Also note: if ever get married and have gone to trouble of choosing really sweet, fun, great choices of readings, either mic readers or print 'em and hand out. Also note: again if ever get married, make clear to DJ that playing of song entitled "Strokin'" will void contract leading to loss of fee.
In evil plan to inflict watery trauma on sofer, took kelilah to a waterpark for her birthday. Backfired slightly as inflicted bathing-suit-shopping trauma on letzan and self in preparation, and backfired further as sofer joined rest of party in having fun. Don't think anybody even got sunburnt. Personal high points included one of those "you drop straight enough that you sort of lift off from the slide" slides (which everyone else failed to do or else to enjoy), and going backwards in an inner-tube through good spinny spirals.
And, have applied to more jobs. Cannot properly express the joy of repeatedly writing cover letters lauding own skills/background/attitude from slightly different angles. Dad told me on the phone last night that he "didn't demand that I have a conventional life", when giving him job-hunting update. Maybe I should go sit out with sign saying "Will snark for food?" Additional comment about mortgages suggested that he meant he would still love me if I ended up with something that wasn't a standard full-time job. Currently I would be really happy to get one industry interview, as a sign that some biotech company is at least *considering* my application.
