Kicking off my attempt to actually grapple with the Related Work category, Ursula K. Le Guin: Conversations On Writing. I was... kind of disappointed by this, to be honest. I mean, it immediately made me tear up because Le Guin is still a frontrunner for Celebrity Death I Have The Most Feelings About (tied with Carrie Fisher), and Le Guin gets off some good lines ("queer theory, or string theory"; "you can't think of it while you're writing, because that would be scary"; "You've got six minutes! They can't stop you!"). But, I don't know, I thought No Time To Spare had a lot more to it and more that really hit me. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself here but we all know what all of these are running against and this does not feel like it has the stature to make a big case for itself. We memorialized her in this category last year, maybe that was enough.
