2017 short fiction - Lightspeed May-Dec
Jan. 24th, 2018 01:18 pmThe Heart's Cartography, Susan Jane Bigelow. A girl makes a friend.
The Shining Hills, Susan Palwick. When Faerie calls.
The Last Cheng Being Gift, Jaymee Goh. I don't usually read the interviews but I thought Goh's was really interesting.
The Dragon of Dread Peak, Jeremiah Tolbert. A sequel to last year's "Cavern of the Screaming Eye", this is about a teen adventurer in a "D&D come to life" setting. I'm not sure how I feel about the direction the series seems to be going, but this was pretty compelling, and I definitely look forward to (I assume) getting another part next year. NOVELLA.
A Wound Like an Unplowed Field, Max Wynne. In which magic, like recovery, is slow and complicated.
You Will Never Know What Opens, Mari Ness. Portals as a sort of addiction, like a book addiction, perhaps.
