I apologize for waiting so long to comment, because I thought that was marvelous. Not least because I actually like your Bitty better than the actual Bitty of the comic -- my big complaint about it so far is that canon!Bitty seems so one-dimensional (cuteness! pies!) that it's hard for me to get interested in him as a match for Jack, but apparently aging him and making him more reflective and subtle wrings my heart.
