Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant, by Tony Cliff, is simply terrific. It's about a tea nerd who gets swept up into adventure with a rogue/adventuress, and has everything I want in a graphic novel - gorgeous art, excellent pacing/paneling, humor, action, lovable characters, some moments that nod to but then neatly dodge cliche. If you like swordfighting ladies, men who are fine with being the sidekick, vivid settings, or storytelling that makes good use of the sequential art format, you should read this book! There's also a short B&W story available on Gumroad which you can find from his website here, and I guess you can read the first half of the book online there too! (I got it from the library.)

Oh, I'm so glad you picked this up! Tony himself is a very cool and nice dude and had trouble finding a US publisher for this -- I'm so happy that things have worked out for him! :D
