Aka, "open fic season until season two, yeeeeeeha".

BWAHAHAHAHA to the "should have cut off the head" scene with Garrett, that was glorious. Also Mike turning on him of course. Am SUPER THRILLED with the Houseguest/mysterious symbol diagramming connection and Raina being involved with Skye's parents and wanting to know "what she'll become" - man, this is such a good setup for season two I almost don't want to write anything that touches it. (Although, I must say there is also something fun about having predicted something, like, what's the opposite of having your fic Jossed. "I resurrected you. You resurrect SHIELD. Get it right this time." PRETTY MUCH, eh? Also it is now canonical that Ward was never on top, heeeee.)

Simmons and Fitz made me cry. True confessions in a box plus MacGuyvering plus mysteeeerious brain damage (which could be way cringey if they handle it badly but I'm kind of a sucker for the trope). Although there were a couple of minutes there when I thought they were going to get rescued by Namor which would have been hilarious and wonderful in an entirely different direction. Sadly Universal seems to own the rights.

Ok, commenting to myself with more thoughts. One thing I really like is that the show has now neatly separated the AoS big bads from Hydra - Quinn wants money and power, Raina is involved in the alien plot, Ward was... apparently never so into the Hydra thing, just personal loyalty to Garrett. I think that's really good, because any *major* victory against, like, epic-level Hydra is going to have to be won by epic-level Steve in Cap 3. The team cleaning up minor Hydra ops could fill an episode or two but couldn't really drive the show, it's much better for them as medium-level heroes to have some medium-level baddies to oppose.

I adoooooored the noisemaker (and all the other old-timey SHIELD gear, but especially the noisemaker). And of course May was just the best, like, the whole time.

So, SO excited for season 2.
