Ankle: the chip in the bone is something old, not from the March injury. No surgery now, PT now, and a brace as needed; possibly surgery in a couple of years if I keep re-spraining it.

Toe: hairline fracture does not require further action at this time, except I should be wearing shoes in the house.

Carpenter ants: have mysteriously vanished. (Possibly related to having the shutters re-sprayed for wasps? Or putting a bucket under that leak under the sink? Or the hot weather?)

Quentin's diaper rash and diarrhea: much improved.

Mosquitoes: I was able to get out yesterday and weed the corn without getting bitten (in long pants, long sleeves, hat, bandanna, mosquito repellant, citronella candle nearby).

House: IS ON THE MARKET! Open houses over the weekend, things seem to be going well.

In general: things looking up.

Cantaloupes! That's cool. I've never succeeded with any squashy sort of thing (zucchini in the past, cucumbers this year).

My dad did corn in our backyard at least once when I was a kid - you have to have a certain number of plants to get any of them to pollinate (like minimum 16, I think - 4 rows x 4 plants, and you do better with more), and I think it tends to be buggy. We'll see if I get anything.

my dad always did corn in the garden, so i believe it is totally doable.
