psychosomatic itching

Every time I look at the poison ivy in my backyard, I end up itchy. Dammit, I know that it can't leap through the air and get me, and also I wouldn't be reacting this fast, and yet.

(I had to stare at it a lot tonight because I had someone out to give me an estimate for removing it. So now I am very itchy but also optimistic that someday it will be gone.)

I heard a report about progress in finding how itching works, and noticing myself itching several times; the show was BBC's "Naked Scientist", which is sometimes on at work.
