excursions for tinies
Aug. 29th, 2012 08:46 pmWe are now halfway through Junie's week off from preschool, so, some brief reviews of where we've been so far:
the spray deck at Everett St near Ernest Rd in Arlington - recommended! Simple, free, nearby (er, if you live where I live)!
singalong at the Fox library in Arlington - not recommended. No parking, got there ten minutes late and was told it was full. Okay, fire codes are fire codes, I respect that, but we go to a fair number of things at Medford and I've never seen people get turned away (and people often trickle in late, too). Maybe Medford just has bigger/better meeting spaces?
Lookout Farm in South Natick - recommended! Yes, it's a fair ways out there, but my tiny had a *blast* picking apples and seeing grapes growing in overhead arbors. (Er, my bigger tiny, the tinier tiny likes it when I walk around with him in the Ergo, and doesn't care whether that's on a farm or laps in the living room.) $8/person on weekdays plus $2.50/lb for the fruit, but you get to ride a little train out into the orchard, and there's a kids' play area with a moon bounce and a treehouse/slide thingy and a littler train (Junie's first solo ride!). Lookout Farm website here.

Date: 2012-08-30 03:09 pm (UTC)The spray park on trapelo rd in Waltham (might be officially belmont?) is is the best! Plus it has real bathrooms and a park for when you get bored of the water. Right by the shaws, at Waverly Square where 60 crosses trapelo. If you turn onto Waverly Oaks Rd, there is a huge parking lot.
