Centaur Kiss, George Leonnec, 1924, was the cover of "La Vie Parisienne".

Her(?) hat blowing off in abandon, his bouquet tossed up in surprise... her hands, his neck... dang.

(Hm, most of what I post as pictures-of-the-day are things I have fannish feelings about (I ship the hell out of this pairing!), but it might be fun to do a series of some of my favorite Serious Art, if I can find images...)

Is it a her? It's all male dress so I assumed it was a he.

I think you could read it either way? The rider is smaller, paler, more delicate, which are sometimes signifiers for female, but I don't see obvious hips or bust. I have a fondness for girls dressed as boys so that's how I choose to see it ::grin::.
