When finally finished with full-morning project at 1, boss felt the need to discuss goals for tomorrow in half-hour detail, with the result that by the time I finally made it down to lunch they were out of corn chowder and I had to have chicken noodle. He, of course, had already gone and gotten his lunch (corn chowder, no less) and was sitting there with it while talking to me.

Also the "goals for tomorrow" were ludicrous - maybe if there were three of me. Although it turns out he is very casual about his molecular biology whereas my advisor was very picky about it so that does knock the time down quite a bit, but still. "This is a lot of juggling for me," I said. "I don't think I'll be able to get all this done." So now I'm just supposed to "see how far I can get" with the cloning, while doing all the rest of it of course. And here I had been thinking, hey, the rest of the week looks light, I might actually get to *eat* and *breathe* and *work the grepping number of hours they pay me for*...

In other news entirely, this has apparently become the "all whining all the time" journal. Will try to get some exciting fannishness up at some point... maybe one of the fragments I don't think I'm ever going to finish, or something...o
