Yuletide 2011 fic recs part 2: A

Prime reccing season (before the reveals) is already over, and here I am finally done reading stories in fandoms starting with... A. Well, also a few starting with O, because, look, "Octopus Steals My Video Camera and Swims off with It While It's Recording (Youtube)" was a fandom this year, and everything in that fandom is obviously destined to be recced all over, but I'm climbing on the bandwagon proudly:

Texts From Cephalopods. This one is pure funny.

Experiments in Intelligence, a more serious look at the thoughts of Octopus.

To Be Under The is the shippy version. Ahahaha. (Also interspecies sex saves the world!)

Back to A:

Nothing Gold, a sweet, quiet A Little Princess story.

A Little Goddess, A Little Princess set in ancient Egypt (or possibly Classical Egypt or something). Really original and creative.

With One Eye Open, a sequel to Aliens (diverging from the later movies).

The Man in the Gaberdine Suit, an American Gods story. Sad and fitting and lovely and very American in the way American Gods stories should be.

Rilla of Toronto, modern L.M. Montgomery AU. I could read, like, 10x more of this.

Daughters Like This, more L. M. Montgomery, focusing on Una.

An Axe Cop story!. I didn't actually read most of this but I am linking it for Josh's benefit.
