I have reeeeturned. Let us reeeejoice.

Ze quick summary: The first lake weekend was great, featuring gaming, swimming, also gaming. Being a passenger in the truck went quite smoothly, one might even say effortlessly, and I got to see Carpenter's apartment and then completely fill it with boxes. My Ohio grandparents are doing quite well - their new place is really nice and seems like a good place for them. Michigan grandparents less well but did get up and dance at my cousin's wedding. Mountain Adventure not so much mountainy, but some adventure: rafting on Tuesday when river was deemed too fast, high, generally rapidous for canoeing; 8.ish-mile hike on Thursday past few dozen waterfalls that I was quite pleased to find I could do with no more than some ankle fatigue. Monday was Civ, Friday was the excellent Shakespearean LARP run by creed_of_hubris in which I got to be Will Shakespeare's poetess-spy ex-lover and negotiate a treaty with the faeries, pretty much every other time was gaming, or occasionally meals, many of which were really good. Was slightly short on time spent both alone and awake with Carpenter and Irilyth, but a really great vacation overall. Games played include the aforementioned Civ, Settlers, Name Game, Boggle, Word-o-Rama (which turns out to be my family's game Guggenheim), Vinci, Can't Stop, lots of other things I'm not thinking of, Carcassone, and a terrific Puerto Rico game in which I beat Fred by one doubloon, having tied him for 57 points.
