This was visiting friend JM commenting on the fun improv game in which people, including the children of other friends, pretend to kill each other and die in various creative ways, made even funnier by the mimicry of an even smaller child. Perhaps you had to be there.
Very fun day of roundsinging and gaming (and some unexpected pinball), both of which involved a lot of not actually doing them and sitting around talking instead. Which somehow stupidly meant I ended up really depressed on the bus home as a reaction. Okay, it was probably the four happily married couples and their various babies and kids that did it, not the roundsinging per se... particularly stupid since they're all 6-12 years older than me and thus it's not like an "I am dooooomed" to be alone sort of thing... but just, gah, depressed, and Missing My Exes in that special "completely unable to remember all the reasons they're dorks and only able to remember all the reasons they were wonderful" sort of way.
::smacks back of own head:: Okay, not drifting off into whining here. Commenting with Proper Objective Distance that the combination of those damned hormonal breeding urges and romantic loneliness really packs an annoying wallop.
One journal-relevant thought: was pondering above quote and day's events and being all mopey that I didn't have someone to tell, and thought, aha, lj! Is very useful. Ya'see, I used to pop off a lot of quick "I did this" emails, back when I was in long-distance relationships, and it's something I miss sometimes. But, this sort of feels like an adequate substitute in a way that typing into a file doesn't... ::hugs lj::
