ETA: Ok, not really, that is not all. Here's the thing, I've had my money on Sayid for the heroic self-sacrifice for awhile now, and if it's established that nobody is ever flying the plane, then there's no point to keeping Lapidus, but Sun and Jin, seriously? What's even left for us to hope for or care about, in the original timeline? Well, Hurley, obviously, but as much as I love him, he doesn't really have *goals* other than "be awesome"... Sun and Jin had a freaking plot. Now it's just, what, hope the smoke monster doesn't get Aaron? The whole mysteries business isn't as fun if there isn't also someone to root for.
