So I am someone who has no problem going to a restaurant by myself, no "table for one" embarrassment or whatever, but in talking to Josh tonight I realized I had this very negative initial reaction to the idea of going to restaurant by myself *with the baby*, like, why am I imposing this baby on a public space if I don't "have to" for some social reason? But I don't think that makes sense (why would my solo motives for being in a restaurant be less valid than social motives?), and now I want to see if it would actually feel as awkward as I'm imagining. Lunch sometime soon, perhaps.

When the baby is a two-month old, who mostly sleeps and looks around a bit, I can see that dining with the baby is tantamount to dining solo. But when the baby has grown into a very verbal, very active toddler who is interested in her surroundings, can eating out with her still count as eating solo?
