Whatever I did, or didn't do, I'm sorry. I take it back. Don't be this way. I need you. I can't make it without you. After all our good times, we've been so good together, I'm not ready to let it end like this. Please don't go.

(by the by, M. is doing afternoon naps still at nearly 3, but he gave up the morning nap early on at 3. Don't give up though. Quiet rest time is important. Plunk Junie in the crib, give her some music, and say you'll see her later. She may cry (and you can do the going back in after 5 min, after 10, etc. if she's really hollering) but I really believe teaching your kids to sleep on their own is an important skill that you have to give them.)

Oops. Early on at age 2, not 3. Must finish coffee before teaching, I think.

I agree in theory but in practice, I think she gets so full of adrenalin from panic/rage if I leave her that it makes getting her down for a nap take much longer than if she only goes into the crib once she's asleep. (The longest I've left her was eight minutes and she screamed the entire time - I mean, going between 9 and 10 on her dial, not just crying. I have a longer post brewing about The Screaming, Comma, My Hatred Thereof.) We're going to do some practicing of It's Okay To Be Awake In The Crib while she's *not* tired, in hopes that she'll start to find it less upsetting, but I suspect it won't come easy.
