At Logan airport. Day two of "try to fly to San Diego for Christmas". Boarding time moved from 12:30 to 9:30. Bought the internet. Still not king.

Wow. So they are currently claiming that the flight is NINE HOURS LATE, but it will still go? And that they'll have crew to man it who aren't over their allowed number of working hours? I hope for your sake that they're right, but that seems kind of unlikely. You have my sympathies. Have you considered getting a day pass to the airline's lounge if you're on an airline that has a lounge there? They're outrageous (like $40 or $50 for a single day), but you get quiet areas and soft furniture and free drinks, which I'm imagining might be welcome. (And wireless, but you've already got that.)

I think the original plane is broken and they're bringing in some other plane. It does seem unlikely that this will actually work out, but, as they said over and over again, all other flights are full and they're not rebooking anyone onto any *other* flight, so this is our best shot. The people in line ahead and behind of me in the meal voucher line were on their second and third day of delays respectively... the one woman had been here since 6 am and was on her third itinerary of the day, or something. I figure at some point the airline will have put us on *some* plane to get us all out of their airport...

The lounge is a neat idea, thanks, but we're doing okay at the gate. I did inquire at the airport spa about rates for massages... they were giving me a very enthusiastic sales pitch until I mentioned I was six months pregnant, and then the guy backed up a good 18 inches and started talking about waivers. Muahaha, fear my belly!

[livejournal.com profile] crystalpyramid told me yesterday, "I hope you've absorbed all of our bad travel luck". I apologize for not having performed this task adequately enough. ^^;;
