The president and I have the same position, fundamentally, on gay marriage. We do. Same position.

Dammit, Kerry, some of us are trying to pretend you're some kind of pro-equality alternative to bigotry, would you just shut up and let us maintain the illusion?

In other news entirely, this is hilarious, especially the last panel.

Enh, some of us are pretending that not a word will be said about the subject in the realm of national debate, at which point Kerry gets elected, and then, sometime in February when it's cold and rainy, he suddenly gets up and pleasantly surprises us all in a speech. I mean, for whatever reason, gay marriage appears not to have popular support, so it kind of seems like putting left-leaners on the courts might actually be the way to go here.

Or maybe i am a wuss. That has been suggested before also. :>)

I have this same fantasy. Too bad he can't come up with a "code" for us non-mainstream folks like Bush supposedly has with the religious nutwing to keep us in the loop, you know. Living where I do and hanging out where I do, I have to remind myself often what a small demographic I am and that what I think is often considered really weird, or worse, by a lot of otherwise decent people.
