I've lost my voice. At least partially. Fneh. I don't recall trading it away to a witch or anything, at least.

Tried on $4 and $6 tanktops at clothing store of cheapness finally, larges all, but they weren't; they all seemed tight in the armpits and, well, skintight in a way that looked rather silly on me. And I'm not that large, as people go, especially not in the parts that add volume under tank tops ::grin::. I guess the store must cater to teens? Or else larger women just aren't supposed to wear that kind of thing?

Have seen Troy! I quite liked it; excellent casting all round, Achilles is such a great part for Brad Pitt and he's such the right actor for it. So pretty! I (alas) managed to miss one of the prime nekkid scenes having to go to the bathroom (I blame the tea at dim sum). But he also did a good job with the moodiness, the matter-of-factness in some of the fighting, just, yes. Much pretty also with the Trojan boys, also very well cast; am more inclined to see Hulk now... props and costumes did a good job with the armor styles, as well as the other costumes, all the dark blue on the Trojans, and having Paris and Hector running around in low-slung sarongs whenever they're not fighting was a move of obvious genius. ::grin::
Some nice pieces of fight choreography, Achilles' signature leap thing was great.

Top noteworthy moments:

Achilles putting his sword between Odysseus and Patrocles, "don't you dare touch my boy", beautiful canon slash even if it's not explicit in the movie

Paris clinging to Hector's leg; Hector sending Helen to comfort Paris (I'm not saying slash, just fine moments of intimate brotherly character interaction)

Helen dropping her dress and embracing Paris in his armor (very... contrasty)

There were, of course, also some things that made me howl in that's-so-wrong outrage... let's just say a couple people die who should *not*, while a couple don't who should, but, enh, what can one expect, ten years etc etc. But overall, yay! Epic!

Oh, but I do really want to see the fan-edit version where in the big battle scenes with hundreds dying there's a list scrolling up the side with all their names from the Iliad, or a pause screen with things circled and labelled with arrows "death of this guy", "death of that guy". Hee.

Ooh, and! They've remade "Shall We Dance", a very sweet Japanese ballroom dance film, as a sexed-up American version, which is not the ooh part, but I swear the music in the second half of the preview was a cover of the Magnetic Fields' "Book of Love", the one that's long and boring, only I don't think it was that verse, but anyways, eeeeee!

Or an annotated screencap of the "thousand ships" shot. I keep thinking of trying to find a screenshot to make an icon. (With annotation "Sometimes, a picture is worth ### words), but that would require learning how to make animated gifs, as well as counting the words in the Catalog of Ships by hand. (It's really long, really boring, and is summed up quite well by one shot in the trailer.)
