Saw _My Big Fat Greek Wedding_ last night with gaming friends as off-week from gaming. Very fun movie, and even managed to stop myself from squeeing aloud over appearance of Joey. And was fun to hang out without the focus on the campaign.

Had an entertaining dream last... well, this morning I guess, as have unfortunately lapsed back to 6:00-15:00 sleep schedule. Nice symbolic combination of reality and anxiety, in that instead of missing the class I'm TAing for (which I have the past two days) I was somehow having to repeat elementary school and had missed *that* class, so I had to do a make-up book report on "National Velvet", which I was somehow going to analyze in terms of some kids book from the 50s I had, but so anyways Carpenter was somehow helping me, and we went to the library to find National Velvet, which was my home library from my parents' neighborhood but all remodelling, and here's the fun thing, I'm pretty sure it was remodelled *as per a previous dream* from some time ago. Only things weren't quite connected right and while Carpenter went to look up where it would be in the catalog, I thought I remembered the author and would just look in the kids section, only I couldn't get there because the doors kept changing where they opened and stuff. Also I was remembering the author as "Elizabeth Bartlett" while research upon waking up suggests it is actually "Enid Bagnold" - am not sure the initials are a coincidence or not. Also yeeshmy window is all fucked up and I can't actually see what I'm typing. Stupid iCab. ANyways, I likedall my worris over school being represented by somehow having to repeat elementary school and screwing that up, hee.

Hee - it sounds like your panic/anxiety dreams function a lot like mine. I can't tell you how many dreams I had whilst suffering through Ancient Greek in college in which I was terrified about having to study for a Latin quiz in high school, despite the fact that I never had any real trouble with Latin in high school. But, you know, one ancient language is as good as another, right?

Hi there. This is Jess, in Pittsburgh. We met one time. :) What I'm trying to do is post a message in your LJ (since I don't know your e-mail address or last name), in hopes that you will receive it and Chaos won't. Which is why it's hidden down somewhere in amongst your older posts. Hopefully there's no special 'paid members get e-mails when their friends get comments' functionality I don't know about.

Anyway. To the point. So. Chaos' birthday is August 29. We (her INI buddies and me) want to do something for her that she'd like. Someone suggested a games night and potluck (with extra points for eggplant-containing foods) at somebody-besides-Chaos' house. I was wondering whether you thought this was optimal, or if there were maybe some other thing you thought she might like better. You seemed like the ideal person to ask. What would she most like for us to do for her?

Hi, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I think a games-night and potluck sounds good, but you should definitely tell her about it in advance and not make it a surprise thing, because she is not in favor of the surprise parties, and will enjoy it much much more if she knows the plan in advance. But she'll like people making eggplant-containing foods and gaming ::grin::. Hope it's fun!
