Am one track into new JC Chasez album (purchased in moment of dark despair in Garage in Harvard (note: not necessarily best location for such) in hopes of providing amusement, diversion) and already begs for parody. I mean, some girls dance with women/doesn't mean they want your attention/don't want you to get in with them/so grab your drink and please go. Really. Elsewhere. I don't care how good you look in electrical tape or whatever that is in the liner notes.

it gets better, I promise. that song is my hands-down least favorite -- I really like the album apart from that.

though it *does* call out for parody at certain moments. On the other hand, it also provides parody, see the track about the one night stand where he talks to the girl, and it's an absolutely hilarious parody of Justin, who would *totally* have taken that line seriously.

Hm...well, it might not be expressed well, but he seems to be saying 'stop being skanky and hitting on those girls who are dancing and minding their own business', which is a sentiment I have to agree with. Perhaps I need to hear the song to get the full begging for parody-ness.

Ah, no, see, that was the parody. The actual lyrics are:
Some girls dance with women
knowing that it gives them attention
I want to get in with them
So pass me a drink and let's go
I was attempting to express the sentiment you describe in response ::grin::

Do not think I have gotten there yet but have concluded album totally rocks. Well, pops. Because not so much rock. Change in opinion may be mostly based on "100 Ways" which immediately jumped out at me. I really like "Mercy" too. Alas much of the latter half of the album blurred into indistinguishability as I wasn't paying close attention (hence saying I haven't really heard the track you mention yet) although there was a nontrivial doubletake around "did he really just come out and say "masturbate"? isn't he supposed to be dancing around that?". Also I finally know what ADIDAS stands for, hee.

100 Ways is great. You should listen to the second half again though -- my favorite song is the last one before the bonus tracks, Right There By Your Side (or something -- I forget the exact name of the song.)

JC!

I know! Or me too! Or something ::grin::.

Much good in the second half. Right By Your Side is sweet. And god help me, I really like ADIDAS. It sounds like he's heard of the 80s, which a) I go for and b) I find it appealing just that he might be aware of them. Also the track before it, the "electricity" one, is that vaguely "alert" noise sampled from the Ghostbusters theme? And you're so right about when he's talking to the girl, hee. (And just for variety, there's "Everything You Want"... until I hit that, I was really wondering why the album was called "Schizophrenic", when "Monomania" would have been more appropriate... is hard to think of a comparably sex-obsessed album...)
