various things that aren't work
Nov. 4th, 2003 04:24 pm-- Voting, and quick web-research this morning in preparation. All-local ballot, didn't like either of the mayors and didn't find quick online info for my "ward" city councillor, but voted for one ballot measure (property-tax reduction that has no hope of passing), one probably unelectable libertarian councillor-at-large, and one quite-possibly-electable, probably-also-socialist-or-something councillor-at-large who had bothered to have a website and seemed big on low-emissions vehicles and school maintenance. I have vague libertarian guilt about the latter but given that we were voting for up to six out of nine candidates it didn't seem *so* awful to throw a vote to someone who at least wouldn't suck entirely.
-- The monthly radioactivity usage log, wipe tests, and badge exchange; my first month in charge of this, with much nervousness, but have turned it all in to the uni officer at least. Possibly technically work, although not of a researchy sort.
-- Losing my eBay virginity in pursuit of a CD I've been trying to track down for the past seven years. Am quite nervous about this whole eBay thing but it was a must-seize opportunity.
--Waiting around for the legitimate signed-up users to clear out of the centrifuges so I can finally start my maxipreps and be here another four hours doing them. Possible because the Tuesday D&D session's been postponed; desirable because I'd like to get on with this dang project; necessary because I don't seem to be capable of remembering to sign up.
