Disadvent 3

Not a great day for disadventure - I got derailed for a bunch of the afternoon by needing a service housecall for our boiler, which is, yay, now boiling again - but I touched the box of unusual objects and culled an egg carton and a cardboard shape. (The box is a stash of stuff like empty candy tins, interestingly shaped bits of packaging material, leftover kid-science supplies like plastic cups and disposable pipettes, etc. There was a time when at any given time, I might suddenly be involved in making a doll a kitchen or a bathroom or something, and it was useful to have odds and ends for imaginative taping-together. Realistically that time has been over for a half-decade now, if not more.)

The craft supplies...

We have been through several rounds of getting rid of craft supplies, and we seem no closer to any finishing point—while also not being able to lay our hands on any particular thing that we actually want.

This is particularly frustrating in early December, of course, when I am doing more decorating in various ways, and open a drawer that I thought might have ribbon and discover... felt scraps? Better put those back!

If you ever needed felt scraps, they would need to be somewhere! :) I'm not sure anyone in my household really does crafts any more, which feels like a weird and extreme thing to say - like, surely that must defy the natural order somehow - but, I don't know, possibly I am trying to feel my way around the edges of the idea that there could be a reduction, at least.
