Threw out most of an old nail polish kit formerly belonging to the now-14yo; kept the googly eyes and fuzzy glitter just in case.
Also went through the entire art supply corner cupboard, sorted everything back into markers/crayons/pencils, and have bagged up almost a pound and a half of dried-up markers to take to the hypothetical marker recycling program that may exist at Staples. Had hoped to do so while next door to the Staples today, but the 14yo slept in past when I had to leave and I wasn't able to get her signoff in time. One of the things I find challenging about disadventation is the feeling that there are relatively few things in my house where I'm the sole stakeholder, vs lots of stuff where I need to at least check in with someone. In this case the 14yo and 11yo were like "of course I don't need that bag of dead markers"; things may get more challenging as we go.
