Strange World, Disenchanted

Strange World. As expected, I loved the scenery/biology, hated that only dudes got to have interior lives and their emotional arcs were all about their fathers and their sons. Honestly I think at this point the animation world should have someone in all the pitch meetings with a squirt bottle who sprays people in the face whenever they say the word "father" or "dad". I found Disenchanted's centering of the stepmother/stepdaughter relationship much more interesting, although in that case I didn't really feel like the story or emotional arc held together. Fun villain song though.

I know I’m a month late here, but thought it was still worth saying that I love the image/idea of the squirt bottle for mentioning “father” or “dad.”
