Bonds of Brass, Emily Skrutskie. This was marketed (or maybe just recced) as "what if Finn/Poe was canon", and that's definitely what this is. The aesthetics of Star Wars, and some of the same story beats and set pieces, but with an attempt at a more coherent throughline about divided loyalties and family legacies. I thought it was mostly fun, although [SPOILERS] the big twist was obvious to me from pretty early on, but didn't get revealed until the very end, leaving a lot of book that felt sort of prematurely obsolete, like, whatever happened, I knew it was all going to get changed somehow when the twist finally dropped, so couldn't we speed it up a little. But I'll read the next one - I'm guessing it'll be Gal POV, and then in book three we get Wen? Or maybe the other way around. Anyways, I'm hopeful for an arranged marriage plot and for both Ettian and Wen to get to fly around in knight suits, that should be fun.
