Stage Dreams, Melanie Gillman. Cute, sweet comic about a lady outlaw and a trans runaway/wannabe actress who (spoilers!) team up and (spoilers!) fall for each other. (Look, it says "rollicking queer adventure full of robbery and romance" right on the back cover, it's not actually much of a spoiler to say that the romantic leads of a romance get together.) I'm a big fan of Gillman's colored-pencil art - they're the author-artist of the webcomic "As The Crow Flies", although it hasn't updated in awhile, and very cool 24-hour comics (which you can find in this tag on their tumblr). I would happily read so many more stories about these ladies; the comic is about a hundred pages, which is long enough for a meet-cute and first adventure that tells a complete story, but still left me wanting more. (Sadly it's too late to nominate this for Yuletide, and I don't think anyone else did either, at least not anybody else who put it on the nomination-coordination spreadsheet.) I actually own this btw (unlike my usual library borrowing) and will try to remember to bring it to something at Chaos's - it's short enough to read at a party and I doubt I'm the only local for whom queer Wild West YA is relevant to their reading interests. :)
