psocopteraSteven Universe: The Movie spoilery thoughts behind a cut. I was very dubious about where it was going to go after the end of season 5, which wrapped up all the big open questions and plot arcs. The movie brilliantly chose to address that head-on, and I really enjoyed it, although I would describe it as more of a good time than "one of the most powerful things I've seen on television" like "Change Your Mind". Still, lots of great moments, classic Steven Universe sorts of stuff, and a clear path forward for how there can be lots more stories in this universe.
Also in August I watched First Man, the Apollo 11 documentary, and the RBG documentary on various airplanes. The first two of those were particularly terrific on airplanes - we got some turbulence just as they were landing on the moon in First Man, and we were landing in my childhood hometown just as they were surviving reentry and recovering Apollo 11 in the documentary. 4D cinema for the cheap price of air travel. RBG was not particularly flight-thematic but I liked it a lot; bit of an elegy for the integrity of Supreme Court justices, but memorialization seems like a good category for art here in the decline and fall phase, so. Would recommend all three (and also Steven Universe).
