The July/August issue, number 23, is dinosaur-themed, and all of the stories are variations on the Owen Corporation and their various plans to bring dinosaurs back. I think it's worth reading all of them to see the interesting different ways they riff on the theme. It was hard to single some out. Uncanny Issue 23.

My favorites:
By Claw, By Hand, By Silent Speech, Elsa Sjunneson-Henry and A. Merc Rustad, Uncanny. Talking to dinosaurs.

Everything Under Heaven, Anya Ow, Uncanny. Eating dinosaurs.

The Tale of the Three Beautiful Raptor Sisters, and the Prince Who Was Made of Meat, Brooke Bolander, Uncanny. Ahahaha, this one made me laugh. Being eaten by dinosaurs.

The September/October issue was the Disabled People Destroy Science Fiction issue, which, full disclosure, I was a Kickstarter sponsor of. I guess that is not so much "disclosure" as "congratulating myself on backing cool stuff" but hey. Lots of good stuff here as well. Uncanny Issue 24.

The House on the Moon, William Alexander, Uncanny. A complicated story - there's a really chilling part, and a weirdly hopeful part, and an odd linchpin holding them together, and I'm not sure about what I think the parts are saying to/about each other.

The Stars Above, Katharine Duckett, Uncanny. Choices, after an apocalypse.

A House by the Sea, P.H. Lee, Uncanny. This is "Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" fanfic, or, you know, a critical response thereunto, same thing.

And from the Nov/Dec issue:

How to Swallow the Moon, Isabel Yap, Uncanny. A fairy tale set in the Philippines; love between a girl in a tower and her handmaid. NOVELETTE.

The Rose MacGregor Drinking and Admiration Society, T Kingfisher (Ursula Vernon), Uncanny. Made me laugh out loud. Glorious.

The Thing About Ghost Stories, Naomi Kritzer, Uncanny. A folklorist collecting ghost stories, and her mother. Kritzer is so good with The Feels.
