Into the Spiderverse

I've seen it twice now, first in regular projection and the second time in 3D, which was highly worthwhile. This movie is *gorgeous* and extremely well done in every aspect - the character design, the music and sound design, the plot, the pacing, the cinematography, how it brought to life the visual language of comics on the screen - the only reason I'm not sure it's the outright best movie of the year was that we had Black Panther back in February, which feels like it can't have been the same year, but was, I guess. Anyways, highly recommended.
(Into the Spiderverse, Black Panther, Wrinkle In Time, and Sorry to Bother You as my Hugo Dramatic Long nominees, which would be the first time I personally nominated an entire slate of movies with Black leads? That's kind of appealing. Heh, I suppose Pacific Rim Uprising would fit too if I wanted to nominate it, which I don't. The only other movie I can think of that I would consider is Ant-Man and Wasp, but enh, nah. ETA: Janelle MonĂ¡e's Dirty Computer film for the Dramatic Short also fits; the rest of my Dramatic Short ballot is likely to be episodes of Steven Universe, Dragon Prince, She-Ra, or Miraculous Ladybug, those being the shows I actually watch.)
