one more novella
Feb. 13th, 2018 10:08 pmThe Lamb Will Slaughter The Lion, Margaret Killjoy. This was awesome! Possibly so awesome it will displace one of the two Yang novellas on my Hugo noms, although I'm torn there because Yang asked people to nominated Black Tides but I have the sense that more people might be leaning towards Red Threads, so really it might be best to do both... anyways, that is not actually the task at hand, namely, the recommending of this novella. So, plotwise, a traveling anarchist comes to a squatter town, witnesses something really messed up (and magical), and gets involved in trying to deal with it. I don't want to say too much more; I *really* liked the whole opening and then the pacing rips along from there. Cinematic-feeling, lots of action, but depth behind it; I would love for this to be the start of a series.
