Dear Yuletide Author 2016

Hi Yuletide Author! I am very excited to be doing Yuletide again! This will be my sixth time and it's always so neat to be part of this! There is very little I categorically won't read (no squicks or triggers you're at all likely to stumble into from any of these requests) and I like a wide variety of kinds of stories (funny, fluffy, smutty, angsty, gen, romantic) - what I would really like best is that you have a good time writing for me!

Beyond this cut is pretty much exactly what I'm putting in my optional details boxes, but hey, here it is in my letter too:

1. Ghostbusters

Abby and Erin

So what if Abby and Erin *didn't* just pop out of the portal when Patty and Holtzmann pulled them out, relatively unscathed except for some white hair? What if they came out in some other time, or some other place, or came out more profoundly changed? What if it wasn't quite them who came out, or something came with them? You could take this in any direction you wanted - cracky, creepy, super tropey, humor, adventure, horror, it just seems to me like a moment of almost unlimited potential for wild AUs. I love every magical plot device that has ever brought a fanfic character to an unexpected personal insight or relationship change - mirror universes, psychic bonds, wings and tentacles, de-aging, time loops, weird things you just made up, etc, or if you want to go in a dark direction, I don't mind if things don't end happily if you have a scary ghost story to tell. I love Abby and Erin as a romantic pairing so if that's something you would like to write, awesome; I'm also happy to see them as friends/colleagues/frenemies, anything compatible with Erin having jumped into a portal for Abby.

2. Delilah Dirk

If we matched on this, then you have also read Delilah Dirk, and I feel like basically what we're doing here is shouting "it's so awesome! she's so awesome! yay!" at each other. Yay! I loved King's Shilling and would love to see how Delilah's relationship with Selim changes afterwards, or doesn't. I'd also be happy to see Delilah with her mother (pre-canon, during, or post-canon), or having a friendship or flirtation with Cecilia? I love Delilah and Selim as friends or as lovers or as friends still trying to figure out if they want to be lovers. If you haven't read King's Shilling any random moment of adventure or quiet between Delilah and Selim would be lovely - snowed in? cooking lesson? unexpected bear? (But you should read it, it's awesome!)

3. Zeroes - Scott Westerfeld.

So here's the deal - I'm *right in the middle of reading Swarm right now*. So I have just finished Swarm, and if we matched on this fandom, I'm completely fine with you *not* having read it yet and writing something based just on Zeroes, or on writing something during/post-Swarm (or incorporating Swarm details but set earlier) if you have read it! I'm keeping my request intentionally spoiler-free. I decided to pick Thibault for my request but I would be just as thrilled to get a Chizara- or Flicker-centric story. I just really like the three of them and am intrigued by their powers - a day-in-the-life of one of them could be cool. Or a date between Flicker and Thibault that goes particularly well or particularly badly. Chizara's powers seem special, in affecting the physical world rather than minds/emotions, how does that play into how she gets along with the other Zeroes? Or, honestly, anything you want to write, I think if you're excited about telling a story from this awesome series, I am excited to read that story.
