The Incredibles

Representation matters: my daughter, watching The Incredibles for the first time, during the long part of the movie when Mr. Incredible is suited up but Elastigirl is still being a housewife: "Where's the girl superhero? Is there going to be more with the girl superhero?" And at the end: "My favorite character was Violet! And Dash!"

Also, after: "Is there a book I can read about them?" Love this kid so so much.

When I was... about that age, but especially a few years older than that, I latched onto a hell of a lot of villains because they were the only strong female characters.

Edit: But 5 or 6 is about the age when I started my really, really, really long internal fanfic about the adventures of Susan and the White Witch. Which I kept going until I was like 11 or 12.
