... anybody, anybody? ::crickets:: Because her mom got fridged? No? But seriously, why cast Dichen Lachman to play someone with no name and barely any lines? Couldn't we have gotten an interesting flashback to her life instead of the extended gross vivisection scene, which, seriously, is there anyone who didn't know what "Nazi doctor" meant? I mean, we already had to listen to him rhapsodizing about his torture-murder experiments, we didn't need to *see* one.

I really liked seeing Fitz get to the point where he's making "with my bad hand" jokes.

I'm betting yes on seeing Thomas Ward before the end of the season.

But we could have seen more of her right in this very episode, why wait.

Imagine if we'd gotten a scene between her and Peggy Carter while Carter is liberating Whitehall's prisoners, say. Or if we'd seen the Hydra agents coming to the village and we'd seen what she did in reaction to that. Either of those could have fit pretty easily into the existing episode structure. Bah.

i am so out of the loop i only got the ‘she got fridged’ meaning of the first sentence and had to look up the other thing.

they totally should've fridged Kyle MacLachlan and made Dichen Lachman the big bad.

Yeah, really. Although... hrm, I am not entirely sure I would be thrilled with the gender subtext of Chaotic Evil bio*mom* vs Lawful Good father figure either, whereas if they're both dads it does leave gender out of it. Although, actually, they could have written the whole conflict-with-Skye's-bioparents arc to center around May rather than Coulson, the show is too damn Coulson-centric and I love May and Skye interacting whether that's agent&agent, found family, a slash pairing, whatever. Dichen Lachman obsessing about Agent May would be EXCELLENT.

(Terminology quibble: I think Whitehall is the season big bad and MacLachlan is an antagonist who may act unpredictably to help or harm the protagonists.)

time will tell which is the real big bad and which is the wildcard and/or red herring. but you're right that i was too hasty there.
