Am COUNTING DOWN to Raina turning on Garrett for faking her out on clairvoyancy. So excited to see her back on the show. You know who else I really hope just got busted out of the Fridge? Agent Akelah Amador, half the eyes but twice the badassery. Really want the arc where Garrett says he's either going to kill her or she can come work for Hydra again IF she accepts a new eyeball-cam/bomb, and she takes it, and then teams up with Raina to take him out. (Kissing is optional but encouraged.) Unfortunately this seems much less likely to happen on the show but maybe if I write a summer-hiatus longfic I can work it in somehow.

Interested by the unfolding of Evil Ward, although it totally josses my fic. Still uncertain whether I want to try to retcon, abandon my wips, what. I do like that the episode did *not* undermine my current headcanon that Fury had Coulson brought back to life because he was one of the very very few agents he could trust, and deliberately set him and the team up to be outside normal SHIELD operations/hierarchy as a sort of failsafe.

Hahahahaha to the "launch them into the sun" thing being fake, OF COURSE. And that it's not Hydra subversion, it was Fury keeping everything. Garrett had a real point there about the Tesseract, you know? But will Quinn fight Doctor Gravitonium before or after Garrett fights Raina, place your bets now.

Were we supposed to recognise the "follow your dreams" guy?

I *really* wanted the Fridge sentries to just stand there stoically, maybe shedding a few manly tears and having to look away, while the helicopter circled on Ward and Garrett, and circled, and Ward and Garrett are whispering, like, what now?, and the whole thing starts to look a little suspicious.

I was a bit surprised at how gung-ho Ward was (though we still didn't actually hear a 'Hail Hydra" out of him), but it seems less likely he is playing Garrett too since he got things for Garrett that Garrett didn't even know were there. I didn't recognize the "follow your dreams" guy from the show, but I am guessing he is probably someone from Marvel cannon/comics and that was a major hint as to who he is, but I have no idea*. I bet Garrett fights Raina before Quinn fights Dr. Gravitonium, because I don't think Quinn will fight Dr.G. I'm guessing Quinn will get Dr.G out of there (now with super powers of course) and Dr. G is likely pissed at Coulson for shoving him in there.

(*The internet has told me that he is "Blackout" and will be in the next episode too. Hope that doesn't count as a spoiler)

I do not mind that kind of spoiler at all. (In some ways I even miss the little ads for next week's episode with their misleading out-of-context snippets of things...)

The more I think about it, the thing about Ward that most surprised/intrigued me was not him handing over the gravitonium but him voluntarily fondling the fully-assembled Berserker staff, when in the staff ep it had looked like a traumatic and unwelcome experience for him. Which he couldn't have *completely* been faking, I mean, *we saw* the flashbacks... it makes me think that maybe there's a completely different context for those flashbacks, or it was an unwelcome experience because he did want the power of it but it brought him way too close to blowing his cover or something? I hope they address this.

You're probably right that Dr. Hall is more likely to go after Coulson than Quinn, I'm sure the show would rather focus on conflict with the main characters than villain-villain conflict. I at least hope he's more like an unaligned third party than a happy Hydra recruit though. (Hahaha, actually what I *really* want is the episode where he's become this nigh-unstoppable force of destruction and the Hydras and the SHIELDs have to cooperate to stop him, I love a good forced-teaming ep.)

Good point on the Berserker staff (though I apparently missed that in this episode), maybe since he held it before its effect is less/different than the first time, or as you say, now that he is hydra-Ward he can just enjoy the power. I forget, was it clear in the flashbacks which kid was Ward? Was he the kid in the water in the well, or was he one of the kids who put/left the kid in the well?

Oh, probably, but she was too interesting to waste on a single episode appearance.
