I played a long game! Well, 6/10 of a long game, to be precise - maybe next time we can go fast enough to finish! (If we can get through a turn an hour and actually start play at 9:30, we could finish when we finished tonight, which I think is not crazy.) I was not doing so well although I claim I was going to pick up a LOT of points in the last couple turns so still could have pulled it off, we'll never know. I certainly had a lot of fun. (As the Egyptians, I decided to mummify my dead leaders and carefully wrapped them in thin strips from a kleenex... as the Achaeans, I composed a poem in honor of my (completely unnopposed) conquest of Troy, as follows (Now, sing of Achaean glory, earned in a battle most gory, if some of you doubt it, then shut up about it, 'cause we're the ones telling this story.) Sadly I did not know enough about the Aramaeans or the, uh, other guys I was... Urticarians? (Haha, no. Urartans, something like that.) to come up with clever cultural practices for them, although the Aramaeans did have camels which was cool.) Um, the game was Chariot Lords, much like Brittania for the ancient near east.
(And was the first time Q skipped both afternoon and evening nursing, woo-hoo, someone's gonna get weaned by April...)

Date: 2014-01-13 03:02 pm (UTC)I keep missing out on boardagaming -- part of the problem is that I haven't been hosting, so if I'm going to game add travel time, and travel time + amount of time necessary to enjoy a decent amount of gaming = too much, especially at the end of the day. My local friends' once-a-year thing is wrapping up this June, so I'm thinking about trying to line up extra babysitting *now*.
(go Q go!)
