chip and dent

So yesterday Q wiped out on a tile floor and knocked a chip off his front tooth, and today the dentist put some sealing gunk on it and told me to watch it to see if it turns colors which would indicate that the blood supply got damaged and it's dead and needs to come out.

Also yesterday our neighbor across the street rang our doorbell to say that his car had rolled out of his driveway and hit *my* car (my shiny still new less than 2000 miles on it car), denting the fender panel thing in front of the driver's-side front door.

Mostly, I feel really fortunate, that we have good health and dental insurance, that the damage to my car is cosmetic but not functional. Still, dang, I feel like the universe really wanted to remind me that nothing stays new forever, nothing gold can stay, things fall apart, okay, okay, hi, time's arrow, I do see the direction you're pointing, yes.
