recent regency reads
May. 18th, 2013 03:01 pmKeeping The Castle, Patrice Kindl. Kindl's The Woman In The Wall is on the short list of books I very most want my kids to read - there are lots of books I will happily recommend to them if they like this or that, but this is one I want them to read as a way to share a piece of myself with them. Keeping The Castle is nothing like that - it's a fun jaunt through various tropes of Cinderella, Austen, and Regency romance - but not hugely memorable. I mean, there are some good bits and if you like those things you will enjoy this book. And I would be interested to know whether Kindl is intentionally writing asexual romance or if the characters just worked out that way.
