the other two reviews

2. Team Human, Sarah Rees Brennan and Justine Larbalestier. Loved this book, recommended. Spent most of the first half laughing, spent most of the end crying (seriously, I cried in at least four separate places). I love a good romance but I loved that in this book it was the friendship and the parent-child relationships that packed the emotional punch. Francis in the astronaut suit on the beach double date is one of the great images of YA literature.
3. Anna Dressed In Blood, Kendare Blake. Sort of reminded me of Shiver, although that might just have been the brown ink. The other similarities - the secondary pairing, the parental abuse backstory - might not have struck me if it wasn't for the ink. Will the other two be in green and red? We may never know, as I don't think I'm going to read them; I liked the romance and werewolf-mechanics worldbuilding in Shiver more than I liked anything here. It wasn't a *bad* book - interesting premise, some good scenes - but the romance didn't grab me, and I don't find myself particularly needing to know what happens next, so, enh. You could do worse.
