Well, the good news is, I got to go see The Hunger Games! I'm glad I got to see it, I thought they did a good job. This is not a movie you must see even if the book didn't interest you, but if you liked the book, you'll like the movie.

I confess I was hoping to see a post about how you only got to see half the movie. Both because that would mean "Baby!" and, potentially, an amusing baby extrusion story.

Yeah, there could have been a good story in that, but no.

At this point I'm pretty much figuring I'm going the full 41 weeks again.

the one person I know who has seen the movie and not read the book really enjoyed it, but I would agree it's not necessarily a "must-see" for non-fans.

Shallow thoughts about the casting, shared here with you: I was curious and went and looked up some pictures of Jennifer Lawrence (on gofugyourself.com), and was just *baffled*. She's *so pretty* in the movie and in real life she's unrecognizable, with this generic blonde celebrity hair and heavy eye paint, so weird.

Also in pictures of the cast it's really apparent that she's taller than the actor playing Peeta, and I am sad that they did not particularly shoot the movie so as to emphasize that (like a lot of their shippiest scenes are in the cave, lying down) because how awesome is that, we *never* get that.

When I saw they had cast her I couldn't picture it at all because of how she usually looks, but am certainly happy with how it worked out. Looking at some pictures, I think much of the height difference is probably that she's wearing heels (I notice you can't see her feet in most of the photos of them together)....Google seems to think he's 5'7" and she's 5'7.5".

I think the books say the characters about the same height?
