Preschool update: not planning to try the five-day thing immediately; fell back to an after-lunch pickup rather than the later after-nap pickup, will try that through next week (and then the shake-up of our October travel). Director agrees this is also a good idea of a thing to try. It maybe helped, today. We'll see.

I really appreciate everyone who gave me advice on the post about the five-day thing. I know I'm not doing a great job of replying to comments, but everything people said really did help me think through the issue, so thank you.

It sounds very good to me that the school has the flexibility to let you play around a bit with the schedule until you find the right fit. A child-centered school is where you want Juniper to be. : )
