spin me right round
May. 4th, 2011 11:13 amSo at the end of April I turned 33 1/3. Huh, I thought, I'm an LP! And, oh yeah, a third of a century old.
Since then I have made a spanakopita and tried french-braiding my own hair, two things I always wanted to learn to do "someday".

Date: 2011-05-05 04:40 pm (UTC)I have tried to french braid my own hair before, though seeing as I can't french braid another person's hair either, I didn't have much luck. I understand the concept, but I felt like I needed at least one more hand to make it work.

Date: 2011-05-05 07:41 pm (UTC)I didn't really do a proper french braid - what I did was to split my hair into two sections, the top and the bottom, and put the bottom part in a clip to hold it separate, and then split the top into three parts, braid it a little, then unclip the bottom, split it into three parts, add one to each of the previous parts, and braid the rest. So it was like a little top braid going into a big braid. I think to be a proper french braid you have to bring in new hair more than once, in smaller bits, as you work your way down the back of your head?? I figure I'll start with this, practicing keeping track of things on the back of my head, and try to work up to doing a more elaborate version once I'm a little better at it.
