When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain

When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain, Nghi Vo, 2020 novella. Sequel to The Empress of Salt and Fortune but I don't think you need to have read that to enjoy this one; I've certainly forgotten many of the details (although not that I liked it). I liked this one too, quite a bit, it was clever and fun. I have three other books by Vo on my to-read list (one more in these series, two standalone) and I'm not sure why I haven't been reading them as they've come out. (I mean, because there are always more things to read than time, but Vo is clearly worth reading.)
