A Song for a New Day
Sep. 12th, 2020 10:24 amA Song for a New Day, Sarah Pinsker, 2019. I have finally finished reading this book after many, many sidetracks (Hugo reading! library reserves popping!) and it is, in fact, excellent, and I commend the Nebulas for awarding it. So many details that really hit me. Reading it six months into the pandemic was surely a different experience than reading it in 2019, or in March - the ways the real US has and hasn't adapted make a thought-provoking dialogue with Pinsker's America. (I get why Pinsker kept focus on the US, but I found myself really curious whether live music was still going on in the rest of the world, and did the US somehow suppress that information?)
