Drowned Country, Emily Tesh, novella sequel (forming a duology) to last year's Silver in the Wood, which you definitely need to read first. More good imagery and a well-crafted layering of conflicts - all the parts fit together really nicely here in how they reflect and answer each other. I'd be very happy to see her get the Astounding next year.
